Notice of a Public Hearing by the Glenn County Planning Commission

NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY of the Final Environmental Impact Report and Notice of a Public Hearing by the Glenn County Planning Commission for Certification of the Environmental Impact Report and Project Decision for the Glenn County Solid Waste Conversion Facility. The Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing at the Board of Supervisors’ Chambers, 2nd Floor Willows Memorial Hall, 525 West Sycamore Street, in Willows on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at 9:00 A.M., or as soon thereafter as the business of the Commission will allow. Notice is Hereby Given that the Glenn County Planning & Public Works Agency has completed an assessment of the possible environmental effects of the following described Project, determined that an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) is appropriate, and prepared a Draft EIR analyzing the potential effects of the Project. This determination has been made, and the Draft EIR has been prepared, according to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the State CEQA Guidelines, and the rules, regulations, and procedures for implementing CEQA as adopted by the Glenn County Planning & Public Works Agency. Abnormal Groundwater Level Report

Please let us know if you are experiencing problems with your water well. The information will be used to help us in our efforts to understand groundwater conditions, drought effects, and future planning efforts. For agricultural wells, the Abnormal Groundwater Level Report can be filled out and returned to the County's Agricultural Department or the Sheriff's Office. For domestic wells, please complete the Domestic Dry Well Call Sheet and return it to the Sheriff's Office. Additionally, the information can be taken by phone.

Drought State of Emergency

Governor Brown has released a Proclamation declaring a Drought State of Emergency for California. The Governor’s Drought Proclamation recognizes the dry conditions in the Sacramento Valley and throughout California while providing flexibility and encouraging the creativity needed to manage water supplies for cities, farms, birds and fish. State of Jefferson

At their January 21, 2014 Board Meeting, the Glenn County Board of Supervisors adopted a Declaration and Petition to the California State Legislature for the withdrawal of Glenn County from the State of California and to form the State of Jefferson.
