The goal of the Glenn County Environmental Health Department is to preserve the environment and protect the health and safety of the citizens of Glenn County.

We strive to accomplish these goals through public outreach, education, collaborative planning and sensible applications of environmental health principles, laws and statutes. Our dedicated team of professionals work in programs such as food safety, onsite wastewater treatment systems, water quality, solid waste, public swimming pools, vector and rabies control, housing and institutions, land use, disaster sanitation, body art and hazardous material clean up.


Convenience Fee Notice

Due to increasing costs for payment card transactions, the Planning & Community Development Services Agency is no longer able to bear the merchant transaction fees associated with the use of credit card or other payment cards for permit application fees. Going forward, these fees will be paid by the individual applicant.

Please note that a 2.89% merchant transaction fee will now be assessed with any payment card transactions.

Alternatively, payment can be made using the Automated Clearing House network or ACH for a flat fee of $2.50. Payment with check is still accepted free of charge as well as payment with exact cash/change. Thank you for your understanding and we apologize for any inconvenience.
