Glenn County Behavioral Health Advisory Board

The Glenn County Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Commission act as an advisor to the Glenn County Behavioral Health Department and the Board of Supervisors. The Board is mandated by the State of California Welfare and Institutions Code section 5604 to review and evaluate the community's behavioral health needs, services, facilities, and special challenges.

Who Is the Board? And what do we do?

The Board is comprised of community members, consumers/client members, and family member positions. Though membership is a non-paid, voluntary basis, the rewards of memberships include making a difference in the lives of those affected by mental health and substance use disorders. Membership affords an opportunity to advocate for and learn about the various challenges facing the community. The Board reviews County agreements entered into pursuant to the Mental Health Services Act; advise the Behavioral Health Board and the local Mental Health Director regarding the local mental health program; review and approve the procedures used to ensure resident and professional involvement in the planning process, and submit an annual report on the needs and performances of the County's mental health system.
