The Glenn County Transportation Commission is currently updating the region’s Coordinated Public and Human Services Transportation Plan. This plan is important because it facilitates funding and serves as a guide to promote and advance local social service transportation.
A variety of programs are available to Glenn County residents including programs designed to meet the needs of the general public and those with special transportation needs.
Transportation assistance such as Dial-A-Ride Service and Volunteer Medical Transport are special service programs. Users of the special service programs must be eligible for a Transit Service Card. Eligibility criteria: Seniors 60 years of age or older, Permanent Disability, Low income receiving Social Service Assistance or low income non-assisted (based on current federal poverty income guidelines).
Applications for Transit Service Cards are available at the Paratransit Services Office and the Glenn County Public Works Office. Transit Service Card applications may also be requested by mail. Glenn Ride is an affordable Public Transportation System for everyone with seven round trips every weekday and three round trips on Saturday from Willows to Chico with enroute service to Artois, Orland and Hamilton City. All buses are equipped with accessible lifts and bicycle racks. For more information on the Glenn County Transportation / Transit Programs or to receive a program brochure or Glenn Ride Bus schedule contact Glenn County Public Works Agency at (530) 934-6530.

Please be aware that there are some locations and/or streets which do not accommodate transit vehicles. The driver will do their best to accommodate your request but may not be able to get you to your exact desired destination. Please alert the driver when boarding of your deviation request or call the transit operator, Paratransit Services, at (530) 934-6700 before your trip to make arrangements for your requested route deviation. The map below indicates the limits of route deviation requests.
Transit Savings Report and Calculator
The calculator, below, will help you compare the price of using public transportation with the price of paying at the pump and then parking your car in town. This calculator has been set with default values based on national averages for April, 2009; however, you may set variables such as the price of gas and the length of the round trip to match the price of gas in your area and the length of your round trip.
