Cooling Zones

Glenn County has 12 public buildings designated as "Cooling Zones". Cooling Zones are open to the public to get out of the heat and provide your body to cool down. Freshwater Harmful Algal Blooms

Fresh water lakes and ponds in the state are subject to Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) during the warmer summer months. HABs can harm people and pets who swim in contaminated water ways. Learn how you can identify, report them, and protect you and your pets from HABs here

Glenn County is one of thirty-three California counties named in the Presidential Major Disaster Declaration for the late February - early March 2019 winter storms (FEMA 4434-DR) that ravaged the California. Find out more on this disaster declaration from Cal-OES and FEMA 

Glenn County receives USDA designation for the February 13-15, 2019, winter storms under the May 1, 2019, Presidential Major Disaster Declaration (FEMA 4331-DR). This designation permits application for assistance for emergency farm loan for both physical and crop production loss as a direct result of this disaster.
