COVID-19 Vaccine in Glenn County

GLENN COUNTY, CA — Glenn County HHSA Public Health conducted a clinic today to provide the first 50 doges of the new Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to front line healthcare workers. Among those vaccinated were hospital staff form Glenn Medical Center and skilled nursing staff from Willows Post Acute.

Mercy Medical Center is serving as the distribution and storage site for Glenn County’s Pfizer vaccine.  Glenn County has been allocated 255 doses of the Pfizer vaccine and 200 doses of the Moderna vaccine in the initial shipments of vaccine. This initial vaccine is specifically for people working in health care settings. “This vaccine offers relief for the health care workers who have been on the front lines, and out most vulnerable residents,” said Leigh McDaniel, Chairman of the Glenn County Board of Supervisors.

Because the supply of vaccine will be limited at first, everyone should continue to do things to help stop the spread. This means still wearing a facemask, staying at least 6 feet away from others, washing your hands a lot, staying home if you are sick, and avoid large gatherings.
