AS HEARD IN COURT JULY 21, 2017

PEOPLE V. THOMAS, JAMES- Defendant was previously convicted of two misdemeanor violations of Penal Code section 243(e)(1), Battery on Cohabitant. Defendant was found in violation of probation in both cases. Defendant was sentenced to 270 days in county jail and probation was reinstated. The case was prosecuted by DDA Coffey with assistance from Willows Police Department Officer Ayres.

AS HEARD IN COURT JULY 7, 2017

PEOPLE V. COX, ANTHONY- Defendant was convicted by a jury of a felony violation of Vehicle Code section 10851(a), Vehicle Theft, misdemeanor violations of Vehicle Code section 20002(a), Hit and Run Property Damage, Penal Code section 148(a)(1), Resist, Obstruct, Delay an Officer, and Health and Safety Code section 11377(a), Possession of Methamphetamine, and a prior strike conviction. Defendant was sentenced to 6 years in state prison. The case was prosecuted by DA Stewart with assistance from California Highway Patrol Officer Horwath, Glenn County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Gibbs, the employees of Willows Glass, and the employees of Glenn County Irrigation District.

AS HEARD IN COURT JUNE 23, 2017

PEOPLE V. RODRIGUEZ, JAIME- Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 273.5(a), Corporal Injury on the Mother of his Children, and two misdemeanor violations of Penal Code section 273.6(a), Violation of a Criminal Protective Order. Defendant was sentenced to 5 years in state prison. The case was prosecuted by DDA Neumann with assistance from Willows Police Department Sgt. Walter and Officer Sheldon and Victim Witness Advocate Pinedo.

AS HEARD IN COURT JUNE 9, 2017

PEOPLE V. HERNANDEZ, DENISE- Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 530.5(a), Identity Theft. Defendant was also found in violation of mandatory supervision for the previous convictions of felony violations of Penal Code section 475(a), Possessing Forgery Paper, Penal Code section 459, Second Degree Burglary, and Penal Code section 496(a), Receiving Stolen Property. Defendant was sentenced to 4 years and 11 days in prison. The case was prosecuted by DDA Coffey with assistance from Orland Police Department Officer Fullmore.

PEOPLE v. LAFRANCE, PAUL TOM.- Defendant was convicted of felony violations of Penal Code section 273.5(f)(1), Corporal Injury on a Cohabitant with a Prior Domestic Violence Conviction, and Penal Code section 273a(a), Child Endangerment. Defendant was sentenced to 7 years and 4 months in state prison. The case was prosecuted by DA Stewart with assistance from Orland Police Department Officer Fullmore.

PEOPLE v. ESQUIVEL, HERMILO JR.- Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 646.9(a), Stalking, and a misdemeanor violation of Penal Code section 243(e)(1), Battery on a Person in a Former Dating Relationship. Defendant was sentenced to 240 days in county jail, 52-week Batterer’s Treatment Program, and 5 years formal probation. The case was prosecuted by DA Stewart with assistance from Orland Police Department Officer Carmon.
