The Glenn County Air Pollution Control District and the Glenn County Public Health are issuing the attached Air Pollution Advisory to notify the public of potential poor air quality conditions in Glenn County due to smoke impacts from multiple fires in Glenn and surrounding counties.
PAROLE DENIED!
PEOPLE V. FRANCISCO MEDINA: A parole hearing was conducted today from California State Prison, Corcoran for Inmate Francisco Medina. On October 28, 1999, Inmate Medina was 18 years old when he committed the life offense of Second Degree Murder by shooting and killing 19-year-old victim, Christopher Clark in Willows, CA. Inmate Medina was 19 years old when he was sentenced to 15 years to life. Inmate Medina was 31 years old at his first parole hearing in 2013 when parole was previously denied. Since that parole hearing, he obtained a new felony conviction in 2017, Possession of Heroin in Prison, for an additional and consecutive two year sentence from Kings County. The Parole Board denied Inmate Medina's parole for 1 year, when he will be eligible for a hearing for a third time. The parole hearing was virtually attended by Assistant District Attorney Ruby Neumann, who opposed the parole on behalf of Glenn County as well as 6 surviving family members of Mr. Christopher Clark. Thank you to Glenn County Sheriff's Office Lt. Gibbs and Facilities/I.T. Technician Roy Medina for setting up and making the jail conference available for the Virtual Hearing.
PEOPLE V. DANIEL FALLON- Defendant was convicted of a felony violations of Penal Code sections 243.9(a), Battery Committed by Gassing as two separate felony counts, a third felony of 243.1, Battery Against a Custodial Officer, and a Prior Strike. Defendant was previously convicted of a felony violation of 245(a)(4), Assault with Force Likely to Produce Great Bodily Injury and felony 273.6(d), Disobeying a Court Order with Violence/Threat and Prior and was found in violation of probation for the 2nd time. Defendant was sentenced to 9 years 4 months state prison and probation was terminated. The case was prosecuted by DDA Coffey with assistance from Glenn County Sheriff's Office Deputies Lemmon, Loudermilk, White, Draper, Sheldon, Cortez, Alves, Reynolds, Chavez, Lt. Gibbs, and Sgt. Melgarejo, and Glenn County Probation Department Officers Moize and Ortiz.

PEOPLE V. FERNANDO GARCIA
Defendant, 22-year-old from Orland, CA, was convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 192(a), Voluntary Manslaughter.
On or about November 24, 2017 the Orland Police Department responded to the sound of shots fired in the area of Date Street and Rennat Way. The victims were invited over to buy guns from the Defendant and Co-Defendant Ricardo Garcia. One victim, Luis Mercado, was shot in the leg and was transported to Enloe Medical Center. The officers learned there was a second victim, Javier Montalvo, found deceased in the garage of the residence at the scene of the crime. Defendant was sentenced to 11 years state prison. The case was prosecuted by DA Stewart with assistance from Orland Police Department Officers Simpson and Mills, Sergeants Johnson and Cessna, and Chief Vlach, CHP Willows, and Glenn County Sheriff's Office Deputies Barnes and Zarate, and Lt. Gibbs.
