Hamilton City Juvenile Arrest
On December 04, 2018, the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office received a report from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives about a threatening social media post. The post was made around June 2018 and was discovered on December 04, 2018. The Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit was able to identify the 16 year old student from Hamilton City. The Major Crimes Unit applied for a search warrant for the juvenile’s residence and the search warrant was granted. Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office, Agents with the Glenn Inter-agency Narcotics Task Force, and Deputy Probation Officers from the Glenn County Probation Office executed the search warrant in the evening hours.
During the search warrant execution, law enforcement located numerous air soft firearms, knives and a small sword. No real firearms were located. The juvenile was contacted and admitted to writing the social media post. The juvenile was arrested and booked into the Tehama County Juvenile Hall for threats. Follow-up on this case was completed with the school, the juvenile’s parents and the juvenile by the Glenn County System-wide Mental Health Assessment Response Treatment Team (SMART).
The case will be forwarded to the Glenn County Probation Department for disposition.
