AS HEARD IN COURT FEBRUARY 16, 2018

PEOPLE V. GARCIA, PATRICIA- Defendant was previously convicted of misdemeanor violations of Penal Code section 243(e)(1), Battery on Cohabitant, and Health and Safety Code section 11550, Under the Influence of Controlled Substance. Defendant was found in violation of probation for the 5th time and probation was revoked. Defendant was sentenced to 728 days in county jail. The case was prosecuted by DDA Coffey with assistance from Glenn County Sheriff's Deputy Alves and Glenn County Probation Department Officer Garcia. 

AS HEARD IN COURT FEBRUARY 9, 2018

PEOPLE V. ROTHGERY, CRYSTAL- Defendant was convicted by jury of a felony violation of Penal Code section 451(d), Arson of Property. Defendant was also convicted of misdemeanor violations of Vehicle Code section 14601.1(a), Driving without a License, and 14601.3(a), Habitual Traffic Offender.  Defendant was previously on felony probation for a violation of Penal Code section 4573.6(a), Bringing Drugs into the Jail, and 2 separate misdemeanor cases. Defendant was found in violation of probation on 3 separate cases. Defendant was sentenced to 540 days in county jail, 3 years formal probation, and probation was terminated in 3 cases. A hearing has been set for the restitution to the victim for the vehicle that was burned in the arson. The case was prosecuted by DA Stewart with assistance from Orland Police Department Officer Branson.

Today, February 8, 2018, Dwayne R. Stewart, District Attorney, congratulates Michael B. Coffey on becoming a permanent Deputy District Attorney II, our 4th attorney in the Glenn County prosecution team. Mr. Stewart thanks Mr. Coffey for prosecuting misdemeanors, initiating mental health court, all while contributing to drug court and domestic violence treatment court for these past two years.

AS HEARD IN COURT JANUARY 26, 2018

PEOPLE V. DEARING, SHAWN- Defendant was convicted of a misdemeanor violation of Penal Code section 594(a), Vandalism. Defendant was also on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) and was found in violation of PRCS and in violation of probation on a separate misdemeanor case. Defendant was sentenced to 164 days in county jail, PRCS was terminated, 40 hours of community service, and 3 years court probation. The full $1,575.17 in restitution was paid back to the victim. The case was prosecuted by DDA Neumann with assistance from Glenn County Sheriff's Office Correctional Deputy Mencia and Lt. Bouldin.

AS HEARD IN COURT JANUARY 12, 2018

PEOPLE V. CAMPBELL, CHAD- Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 666.5, Vehicle Theft with a Prior Conviction for Vehicle Theft. Defendant was sentenced to 4 years in state prison plus a 16 months consecutive prison term from Napa County for a total of 5 years and 4 months in state prison. The case was prosecuted by DA Stewart with assistance from California Highway Patrol Officer Owens.

AS HEARD IN COURT JANUARY 5, 2018

PEOPLE V. JOHNSON, PAUL- Defendant was convicted of felony violations of Penal Code section 666.5, Vehicle Theft with Prior Vehicle Theft, and Vehicle Code section 2800.2, Reckless Evasion, and enhancements for a prior strike conviction and a prior prison term. Defendant was sentenced to 6 years and 4 months in state prison. The case was prosecuted by DDA Harbarger with assistance from California Highway Patrol Officer Stokes and Redding Police Department Officer Stenderup.
