LANE CLOSURES SCHEDULED FOR FOREST HIGHWAY 7 GUARDRAIL REPAIR PROJECT

Due to construction associated with the Forest Highway 7 Emergency Relief Guardrail Repair Project, intermittent lane closures will be in effect on Forest Highway 7 from July 14, 2025, through August 29, 2025. The road will remain open to traffic; however, travelers may experience delays of up to 20 minutes.

This project involves replacing and upgrading approximately 16,500 linear feet of guardrail damaged during the August Complex Fire. The new guardrails will meet current safety standards. The total construction cost is approximately $1.3 million, partially funded through the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) Emergency Relief (ER) Program.

The FHWA Emergency Relief Program provides financial assistance for the repair or reconstruction of roads and bridges that have sustained serious damage from federally declared disasters. ER funding supplements resources from states, local agencies, and other federal partners to restore essential transportation infrastructure.

The project was awarded to the low-bid contractor, Apex Fence Co., Inc., of Anderson, California.
