Welcome to the September 2025 Concern newsletter.
This issue explores one of the trickiest parts of any relationship—conflict. Arguments are never fun, but when handled with curiosity and care, they can surprisingly bring people closer.
Inside, you’ll learn how avoiding conflict can backfire—and why approaching disagreements with empathy helps build stronger relationships. You’ll also get practical tips to shift from a “you vs. me” to an “us vs. the problem” mindset, to help turn disagreements into opportunities that strengthen, rather than weaken, connection.
Tie-In Concern Benefits
If this month’s newsletter sparks ideas or motivation, but you aren’t sure how to begin, your Concern benefits can help!
New Benefit Coming Soon! Starting September 15, 2025, we are expanding our services to include access to OurRelationship, an inclusive online program that helps couples uncover, understand, and solve common challenges. Complete it solo or as a couple, with or without support from a program coach. Click here to learn more.
Coaching: Sometimes you need a sounding board. Concern members get four free 30-minute telephone sessions per year with qualified coaches who provide structure, encouragement, and accountability to help reach relationship and other communication goals.
Counseling: There’s a reason that among our most frequent counseling requests are relationship and couples issues. Relationships are central to our wellbeing, and they can also be complicated. Your Concern benefit includes free, confidential, short-term counseling for employees and family members, with compassionate counselors who can help you navigate conflict, improve communication, and strengthen your most important connections.
As always, you can find valuable learning tools like this, along with all the many services that Concern offers through our digital hub. After a simple intake, the hub offers a personalized mix of content and services—from counseling and coaching to work-life and guided mindfulness solutions—all curated to help you tackle life’s emotional ups and downs.
