FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Newville Road Bridge at Kendrick Creek to Close after Findings of Deficiency

In order to ensure the safety of the traveling public, the Tehama County Department of Public Works has ordered the closure of the bridge at Newville Road and Kendrick Creek (just north of the Glenn County line) after findings of deficiency in a recent inspection. This closure will begin in the coming days, as crews are able to post signage and place barriers.

This bridge suffered damage in early February 2025 during flood events, in which the Tehama County Board of Supervisors declared a local emergency. Repairs were done at the time, and the situation has been continuously monitored.  The Department will work to re-open the bridge as soon as possible to ensure the safety of the public.

This road closure will unfortunately cause significant detours for the residents and public services in the area and the Department will work diligently to prioritize the public's best interest and public safety.
