NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC:

Please be advised that effective August 1, 2011, the Glenn County Recorder’s Office will be reducing their recording fees by $1.00.  Therefore, our recording fees will be $13.00 for the first page and $3.00 for each additional page.

The reduction in recording fees is due to the closure of the Assessor/Clerk-Recorder’s Offices on Fridays.  The reduction in office hours is to help meet our share of the budget shortfall for 2011-12.   Office hours for the Clerk-Recorder’s Office will be 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday thru Thursday.

New Law Regarding Social Security Numbers:

Effective January 1, 2008, Section 1798.89 of the Civil Code is added to read: Unless otherwise required to do so by the state or federal law, no person, entity, or government agency shall present for recording or filing with a county recorder a document that is required by any provision of law to be open to the public if that record displays more than the last four digits of a social security number.

Hours of Business: 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. - Monday through Thursday

EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2011, WE WILL NO LONGER BE A PASSPORT ACCEPTANCE FACILITY.
You may go to the following locations in Glenn County:
1. ORLAND POST OFFICE (MONDAY - FRIDAY 9 A.M. TO 2 P.M.)
2. HAMILTON CITY POST OFFICE (MONDAY - FRIDAY 10 A.M. TO 3 P.M. BY APPOINTMENT ONLY)
Due to changes in the law by the Passport Acceptance Agency this office is no longer authorized.
WE APOLOGIZE FOR THE INCONVIENCE.

Marriage licenses issued from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 1, 2010, CERTIFIED COPIES OF BIRTH CERTIFICATES WILL BE INCREASING TO $16.00!
