How to become an IHSS Provider

An In-Home supportive services provider is someone who gets paid to provide services to a person who receives IHSS. State law requires all IHSS providers to complete the steps outlined below, within 90 days, in order to receive payment from the IHSS Program.

Step 1: Watch the State-mandated IHSS Provider Orientation video. - available here soon

Step 2: Provide the Glenn County Public Authority a valid photo ID issued by a U.S. federal, or State government agency AND an original social Security card.

Step 3: Be fingerprinted and go through a criminal background check by the California department of Justice. Current state law requires that you pay the costs for fingerprinting and the criminal background check. Fees vary depending on where you choose to get fingerprinted.

Step 4: Complete a SOC 426A-Recipient Designation of Care Provider form. If you are wanting to be on the Registry, please contact the Glenn County Public Authority and let us know.
