Project Description

Glenn County will replace four structurally deficient or functionally obsolete bridges within a one-mile corridor of County Road 67 between County Road Z and the Butte County Line in two Phases.

The bridge replacement projects will require the closure of County Road 67 from County Road Z to Aguas Frias, maintaining agricultural field access.

A Detour Plan will be in place to advise motorist of road closure and suggest alternate routes. Glenn County will make every effort to keep the community updated on the progress of the work and any additional changes to the traffic patterns.

Construction Timeframe

Construction work on Phase 1 of the Four Bridge Replacement Projects on County Road 67 will begin on May 1, 2024. The construction window for in channel work is May 1st through November 1st, and both phases of the project are expected to be completed in December 2025 pending weather and environmental delays.  The majority of the construction activities will be during the day between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Funding

The estimated Project construction cost is $11,735,320.50. This Project is funded by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Highway Bridge Program (HBP) and State Toll Credits. Viking Construction Company, Inc., of Rancho Cordova, California, was awarded the construction contract for this project, and UNICO Engineering is serving as the County’s construction management team for the project.
