PAROLE DENIED! & AS HEARD IN COURT DECEMBER 20, 2019

2 December Parole Hearings!

PEOPLE V. JAMES GINO PARDINI

On December 4, 2019 at the California Medical Facility in Vacaville, California a parole hearing was held for Inmate James Gino Pardini. Pardini was still on parole from his 5 year prison sentence out of Glenn County for a Felon in Possession of Firearm felony conviction when he committed the new third strike felony of Felon in Possession of Ammunition and admitted to all three strikes. Pardini was sentenced to 25 years to life and had his first parole hearing. After a lengthy hearing, the Parole Board denied Pardini’s parole, and he will not be eligible for parole again for 3 years. 

The parole hearing was attended by Assistant District Attorney Ruby Neumann, who opposed the parole on behalf of Glenn County.

PEOPLE V. DAVID FERGUSON

On December 12th 2019 at the Valley State Prison located in Chowchilla, California a parole hearing was held for Inmate David Ferguson.  Ferguson had previously been convicted of the 1st degree murder of Allen Moack in 1978 and was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole.   After a lengthy hearing, the Parole Board denied Ferguson’s parole, and he will not be eligible for parole again for 3 years. 

The parole hearing was attended by Deputy District Attorney Michael Coffey who opposed the parole on behalf of Glenn County.    The District Attorney’s Office would like to recognize the courage of the family of the victim who personally attended the parole hearing and spoke in opposition to Mr. Ferguson’s parole.

PEOPLE V. SMOCK, ALLEN - Defendant was previously convicted of a misdemeanor violation of Health and Safety Code sections 11377(a), Possession of Methamphetamine and 11364(a), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia was found in violation of probation for the 4th and 4th time. Defendant was sentenced to 261 days jail with an additional 365 days stayed upon successful completion of probation and probation was reinstated. This case was prosecuted by DDA Coffey with assistance from Glenn County Probation Department Officer Permann. 

PEOPLE V. BUTLER, THOMAS -  Defendant was previously convicted of a misdemeanor violation of Health and Safety Code section 11377(a), Possession of Methamphetamine and was found in violation of probation for the 3rd time. Defendant was sentenced to 220 days jail and probation was reinstated. This case was prosecuted by DDA Coffey with assistance from Glenn County Probation Department Officer Perry. 

PEOPLE V. ANDREWS, MATTHEW -  Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Vehicle Code section 10851(a), Automobile Theft. Defendant was sentenced to 120 days jail and 3years probation. This case was prosecuted by ADA Neumann with assistance from Orland Police Department Officer Mills. 

PEOPLE V. PIERCE, HOLDEN -  Defendant was convicted of misdemeanor violations of Penal Code sections 261.5(c), Sexual Intercourse with a Minor Over 3 years Age Differences and 289(h), Sexual Penetration with Foreign Object. Defendant was sentenced to 101 days jail and 4 years probation. This case was prosecuted by ADA Neumann with assistance from Glenn County Sheriff's Office Detective Barnes and Deputy Ayres. 

PEOPLE V. COLBERT, MATTHEW-  Defendant was previously convicted of a misdemeanor violation of Penal Code section 21310, Possession of a Dirk or Dagger and was found in violation of probation for the 5th time. Defendant was sentenced to 60 days jail and probation was reinstated. This case was prosecuted by DDA Coffey with assistance from Glenn County Probation Department Officer Permann.
