Glenn County has announced the start of its annual weed abatement program to reduce wildfire risk and protect life and property. Property owners are required to maintain up to 100 feet of defensible space by removing dry vegetation, trimming trees, and clearing combustible materials throughout fire season. Failure to comply may result in penalties or county-led abatement at the owner’s expense, with enforcement based on complaints from residents and fire departments.

The Glenn County Planning & Community Development Services Agency (PCDS) is warning permit applicants about fraudulent emails requesting wire transfers for county permit fees. Glenn County does not request wire transfer payments from the public. Anyone receiving such a request should disregard the message and forward it to [email protected].

The County of Glenn has formally transmitted a letter to the Orland City Council outlining the funding, billing, and reimbursement structure associated with the Westside 12-Hour Ambulance program.
