Fatality in Structure Fire on County Road 15

Orland, CA – At approximately 7:00 am on Thursday, April 25, 2019, the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office received several reports of a barn on fire at a residence west of Orland.  Members of the Orland Fire Department and Deputies from the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office responded and found an outbuilding on the property to be fully engulfed in flames. While extinguishing the fire, Orland Firefighters located what appeared to be an unidentifiable charred body inside of the burnt out building.

Members of the Glenn County Arson Task Force responded to investigate the circumstances surrounding the cause of the fire. Detectives from the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office also responded to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of the person found inside of the building. The identity of the deceased person, cause of death, and circumstances surrounding this incident are undetermined as this time. This investigation is ongoing and further details regarding this incident will be released when they become available.
