PEOPLE V. FERNANDO GARCIA

Defendant, 22-year-old from Orland, CA, was convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 192(a), Voluntary Manslaughter. 

On or about November 24, 2017 the Orland Police Department responded to the sound of shots fired in the area of Date Street and Rennat Way. The victims were invited over to buy guns from the Defendant and Co-Defendant Ricardo Garcia. One victim, Luis Mercado, was shot in the leg and was transported to Enloe Medical Center. The officers learned there was a second victim, Javier Montalvo, found deceased in the garage of the residence at the scene of the crime. Defendant was sentenced to 11 years state prison. The case was prosecuted by DA Stewart with assistance from Orland Police Department Officers Simpson and Mills, Sergeants Johnson and Cessna, and Chief Vlach, CHP Willows, and Glenn County Sheriff's Office Deputies Barnes and Zarate, and Lt. Gibbs.

PEOPLE V. JACOB HAMILTON-  Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 422(a), Criminal Threats and a Strike Prior. Defendant was sentenced to 32 months state prison. The case was prosecuted by DA Stewart with assistance from Glenn County Sheriff's Office Deputy Thompson. 

PEOPLE V. MICHAEL TRUSCOTT-  Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 29800(a)(1), Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Defendant was sentenced to 16 months state prison. The case was prosecuted by DA Stewart with assistance from Glenn County Sheriff's Office Deputy Ayres. 

PEOPLE V. JESUS SEGURA-BARBA-  Defendant was previously convicted of a misdemeanor violation of Penal Code section 243(e)(1), Domestic Battery and Vehicle Code section 23152(b), DUI and was found in violation of probation for the 3rd time. Defendant was sentenced to 364 days jail and probation was terminated. The case was prosecuted by DDA Coffey with assistance from Orland Police Department Sergeant Cessna and Glenn County Probation Department Officer Ortiz. 

PEOPLE V. DALE TAYLOR-  Defendant was previously convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 30305(a)(1), Felon in Possession of Ammunition and was found in violation of Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) for the 3rd time. Defendant was sentenced to 120 days jail and PRCS was reinstated. The case was prosecuted by DA Stewart with assistance from Glenn County Probation Officer Van Eck. 

PEOPLE V. WILLIAM COATS-  Defendant was previously convicted of a misdemeanor violation of Penal Code section 243(e)(1), Domestic Battery and was found in violation of probation for the 1st and 2nd time. Defendant was sentenced to 120 days jail and probation was reinstated. The case was prosecuted by DDA Coffey with assistance from Glenn County Probation Department Officer Ortiz. 

PEOPLE V. MARIAH LYNN WILKINS-  Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 182(a)(2)/484, Conspiracy to Commit Theft at Walmart and was found in violation of probation for a misdemeanor drug possession case. Defendant was sentenced to 90 days jail, with all but 30 days suspended, drug court, and 3 years probation. The case was prosecuted by ADA Neumann with assistance from Glenn County Sheriff's Office Deputies Turner, Zarate and McIntyre. 

PEOPLE V. JOSE JIMENEZ-AGUILAR-  Defendant was convicted of a misdemeanor violation of Penal Code section 243(e)(1), Domestic Battery. Defendant was sentenced to 60 days jail and 3 years probation. The case was prosecuted by DA Stewart with assistance from Orland Police Department Officer Andrade. 

PEOPLE V. RUDOLPH ALVAREZ ROMO-  Defendant was convicted of a misdemeanor violation of Penal Code section 490.2, Petty Theft. Defendant was sentenced to 60 days jail and 3 years probation. The case was prosecuted by DDA Coffey with assistance from Glenn County Sheriff's Office Deputy Goodwin. 

PEOPLE V. NICOLE ORDAZ-  Defendant was previously convicted of a misdemeanor violation of Penal Code section 243(e)(1), Domestic Battery and was found in violation of probation for the 1st time. Defendant was sentenced to 30 days jail , with an additional 90 days suspended, and probation was reinstated. The case was prosecuted by DDA Coffey with assistance from Glenn County Probation Department Officer Ortiz. 

PEOPLE V. DOMINGO RAMIREZ-CORONADO-  Defendant was convicted of a misdemeanor violation of Penal Code section 243(e)(1), Domestic Battery. Defendant was sentenced to 30 days jail and 3 years probation. The case was prosecuted by DDA Coffey with assistance from Orland Police Department Officer Lowery. 

PEOPLE V. MICHAEL BRADLEY-  Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 422(a), Criminal Threats. Defendant was sentenced to 24 days jail and 3 years probation. The case was prosecuted by DDA Coffey with assistance from Glenn County Sheriff's Office Deputy McIntyre.
