Hamilton City, CA – Monday, October 21, 2019, Deputies from the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office responded a report of a vehicle collision in the area of 2nd St. and Sierra Ave. in Hamilton City around 10:30 PM. Glenn County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with EMS, Hamilton City Volunteer Fire Department and CHP Officers arrived on scene and discovered a maroon Acura passenger car collided with a utility pole, trampoline and parked vehicle before coming to rest in the driveway of a residence on the northwest corner of 2nd St. and Sierra Ave. The driver, and sole occupant, of the vehicle suffered from multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased after life saving measures were exhausted.
Detectives from the Glenn County Major Crimes Unit were called to investigate the incident as a homicide. The victim was identified as a 19 year old Alonso Valdovinos of Hamilton City. Witnesses in the area reported hearing several gunshots just prior to the collision. There is no suspect information at this time. There is also evidence to indicate there may have been another vehicle in the area when the incident occurred. The Glenn County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance from the public to provide any additional information regarding the incident.
