Today the Board of Supervisors met to continue their Special Meeting regarding the county moving forward into Stage 2. Staff presented information to the Board regarding the state variance process, which would allow the expedited Stage 2 reopening of certain Glenn County businesses. The Board also heard from its city partners with respect to their support of a safe and steady plan for reopening.
The Board took action to authorize the Chairman to sign a letter of support for the state variance. This was the last element necessary for the county to submit a variance request to the state.
Staff have submitted the attestation for variance and plan documents to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). The process from here is for the state to review the attestation and plan. When the state is done with the review, CDPH will post the plan on its website. Once the plan is posted then the county is able to follow that plan and expedite local reopening within Stage 2 of the Governor’s plan.
It is important to note that the plan cannot take effect until CDPH completes the review process and posts the plan to their website (https://www.cdph.ca.gov/).
