First Death from COVID-19

 

Glenn County – A Glenn County resident has passed away from complications associated with COVID-19. The resident is a north county resident over the age of seventy. The resident passed away in the hospital after an extended stay. The resident had multiple underlying chronic health conditions and contracted COVID-19 from an unknown exposure. “We are saddened to announce our first death of a resident from COVID-19. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family during this difficult time,” said Dr. Jared Garrison, Health Officer.

 

Twenty-nine Glenn County residents are currently positive for COVID-19, twenty-six are isolated at home and three are hospitalized. One hundred and ninety Glenn County residents have contracted COVID-19 since March; one hundred and sixty people have since recovered.

 

COVID-19 is in our community and it is critical that every resident take precautions:

  • Do not gather in groups such as social gatherings
  • Wear a face covering when in public spaces
  • Use good hygiene and sanitation, washing hands frequently and cleaning frequently touched surfaces
  • Stay home when you are sick
