The Community Education Specialist 2 will perform the full range of program implementation duties. Incumbent will be responsible for the coordination, management, and delivery of nutrition education to community based adults and/or youth. This includes training, guiding, and supporting volunteer extenders with education, information and resources; evaluating program implementation; collecting and compiling enrollment, documentation, and evaluation data from volunteer extenders and participants; performing data entry for reporting and writing reports in compliance with funding requirements. 

Incumbent will build and maintain an informal network of partners, align special nutrition education projects with UC approved curricula and educational materials, develop news releases and news articles, and maintain subject matter competence. 

This position's primary focus will be on conducting, managing, and evaluating a nutrition education program to improve the environment of the school and community. 

This position includes communication to clients in Spanish through translation, presentation and one-on-one communications. 

This position will promote, in all ways consistent with other responsibilities of the position, the affirmative action goals established by the Division.

Job overview: 
Perform an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse.
Shift options: 
Monday thru Friday: 6am to 2pm (or 3pm) with a 30 minute lunch
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Prepares orders pulling materials per FIFO standards; building pallets
• Sort and place materials on racks, shelves or bins according to organizational standards
• Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup on schedule 
• Complete reports, forms and documents
• Assist shipping and receiving: unloading trucks, checking merchandise
• Inventory control: verifying quantities, stock location, bins, lot numbers
• Maintain safe and clean work environment 
• Operate warehouse vehicles and equipment in a safe manner and abide to standard operating procedures 

Food Safety Requirements/Responsibilities:
• Comply with all Plant, State and Federal, Safety, and Quality Standards.
o Regulations:
§ OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF

Qualifications:
• Good communication, organizational, time management and mathematical skills
• Dependable and reliable
• Inventory, data entry and computer skills 
• Forklift and pallet jack certification required (will be provided by employer) 
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment. 
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Food Handling/Production experience a plus
• 1-2 years previous warehouse experience a plus
• Multi-lingual a plus
• Follow quality and safety standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations

Physical Demands:
• Fast paced work environment
• Loud equipment
• Exposure to cold (34 – 40 Degrees F) in cold storage
• Overtime and Saturday shifts expected; Sunday shifts seldom
• Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs.
• Frequently required to stand, stoop and walk. Occasionally required to sit, kneel, or crouch

Work Environment:
• Primarily indoors in Cold Storage
• Use of heavy machinery (Fork Lifts, Pallet Jacks, etc.)
