Hamilton City School Lockdown

Hamilton City, CA – Wednesday, May 17, 2023

 

Deputies and Detectives from the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office and Orland Police Officers responded to Hamilton City to assist the California Highway Patrol for the report of a stolen vehicle which stopped in the area. Upon the vehicle stopping, the Sheriff’s Office received reports of people pointing firearms at each other. Due to the circumstances, the Sheriff’s Office ordered a lockdown of the Hamilton City Schools for additional safety measures.

Deputies arrived and located one subject who was detained. Law Enforcement Personnel began receiving reports of a male suspect fleeing the area southbound. Detectives and Orland Police Officers, with assistance from K9 Orion, located the male and detained him. The investigation was completed by officers with the California Highway Patrol. The lockdown of the schools was lifted in coordination with the Sheriff’s Office.
