The Glenn County Solid Waste Department is a division of the Glenn County Public Works Agency. The Solid Waste Division is charged with the task of operating the landfill site as well as compliance with all Federal, State and local regulations associated with the operation of a landfill. 

This website was developed by the Glenn County Waste Management Regional Agency to provide a comprehensive guide regarding solid waste management in Glenn County.

The Glenn County Health Department, acting as the Local Enforcement Agency (LEA), is certified by the California Integrated Waste Management Board to enforce state laws and regulations at solid waste facilities within its jurisdiction.The Glenn County Landfill operates under a Solid Waste Facility Permit issued by the Glenn County Health Department. The operation and design of the facility are described in a Report of Disposal Site Information (RDSI).

CalRecycle logo CalRecycle announced Monday March 29, 2010 that with the recent passage of AB7 (8X), the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (Department) is required to pay in full, subject to the availability of funds, any payments that have been proportionally reduced during the period of January 1, 2010 through June 30, 2010. That will restore $20,000 in recycling funding in Glenn County. Each of the cities will receive $5,000 with the County receiving $10,000.

  • Solid Waste Fee Increases to be effective July 1, 2009 - In order to pay for the acquisition and future expansion costs of the landfill, the Glenn County Supervisors voted at a recent meeting to increase the tipping (tonnage) fee from $30/ton to $70/ton. These new fees are effective July 1, 2009. Landfill Fee Schedule. This means that the minimum charge at the gate will increase to between $15 and $20. Other charges calculated from that per ton fee will also be revised. In addition, for those with garbage collection services, the rate paid to your hauler will increase approximately $4 per month.
