The Glenn County Sheriff is responsible for law enforcement services in the unincorporated areas of the county and within the City of Willows.

We administer the County Jail, Dispatch, and function as the County Coroner. We patrol waterways to protect residents and property and acts as the Director of Emergency Services.

CCW SB2 UPDATE:

On December 20, 2023, a Federal preliminary injunction was issued blocking certain portions of SB 2 “sensitive place” locations. This injunction was further held up on January 6, 2024. The injunction only stops enforcement of “sensitive places” while the courts examine the constitutional arguments related to these areas. The remainder of SB 2 is in effect as of January 6, 2024. 

The following locations will not be prohibited as of January 6, 2024:

  •  All parking areas covered under PC 26230, medical buildings, public transportation,  bars, public gatherings or special events, playgrounds, parks, Fish and Wildlife areas, gambling areas, stadiums/arenas, public libraries, amusement parks,  zoo/museum, house of worship, financial institutions, and private businesses.

Do you have your California Boater Card?

California Boater Card

California boating law requires boaters to obtain and carry a California Boater Card (CBC) while operating a recreational motorized vessel on California waterways. This card is often called the ‘California boating license’.
 
The CBC requirement will be phased in over 8 years. Current requirement:
  • January 1, 2024 – Persons 60 years of age or younger
  • January 1, 2025 – All persons regardless of age
