Vegetative Environmental Management

Glenn County administers the vegetative control program (Vegetative Environmental Management or VEM) for our county roads and right-of-ways. The program consists of pre and post treatment applications performed countywide. The purpose of the program includes but is not limited to: reducing the establishment or spread of invasive and noxious weeds to agricultural and residential properties, to curtail road degradation, to provide an unobstructed line of sight for turning and merging vehicles, and to allow for safer emergency roadside stops where there is potential for accidental fire.
