The In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) program provides in-home assistance to eligible aged, blind, and disabled individuals as an alternative to out-of- home care and enables recipients to remain safely in their own home.

The first step to receive IHSS is to contact the Adult Services department at 530-865-6164 to get started with the referral process.

Once you have been approved for services and have received authorized services there are two types of care providers that can work for you.

  1. IHSS Non-Registry Provider: This is a family member, friend, or acquaintance that has agreed to work for you. You will need to contact the Glenn County Public Authority to let them know you have hired a provider. If the provider is not already enrolled in the program as a provider, they will need to complete the enrollment process. Once the enrollment process is completed, they will be eligible to receive payment.
  2. Registry Provider: If you do not have a family, friend, or acquaintance to assist you, the Glenn County Public Authority can assist you through the Registry. The Registry providers go through the Public Authorities Registry application process and complete a State mandated orientation. If you’ve been approved for services and need a registry provider, please contact the Public Authority to request a list.
