Updated Friday, March 28, 2021.  In response to the Governor’s Executive Order N-33-20 to shelter in place Glenn County has implemented business continuity practices to ensure we continue to operate and are here to serve you. Although business offices are closed to walk-in services we are here and continue to provide essential services to the public through alternative means of communication. In order to ensure access to services during this period we have posted various online options for all County offices. Before you come by please see the following resources listed by department that are available.

ASSESSOR / CLERK-RECORDER / ELECTIONS

Assessor/Clerk-Recorder/Elections Office will not be able to provide services for walk-in customers until further notice.

Requests for vital records (birth, death, and marriage records) submitted online through the Vitalchek service, as well as requests through the mail will be processed. Completed requests will be sent through the US mail.

Business filings and official records (purchase of copies) will not be available. However, filings or requests submitted through the mail will be processed. Completed filings or requests will be sent through the US mail.

CHILD SUPPORT SERVICES

NOTICE: The Department of Child Support Services will again be open to the public starting March 8th, 2021: Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. In an effort to protect the public and staff, we are limiting attendance in the lobby. To ensure we can address all of your questions or concerns, appointments are highly encouraged. All visitors are required to wear a mask, observe social distancing, and follow local, state and CDC public health guidelines.

COMMUNITY ACTION

Glenn County Community Action Department (CAD) is taking every precaution to keep our community safe and contain the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Community Action Department is open to the public Monday - Friday from 10am – 4pm at our 125 E Walker Street office in Orland.  We will still continue to take appointments by phone, but our Business and Resource Center will also be open. You can contact staff anytime during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm) at the following phone numbers:

COOPERATIVE EXTENTION

UC Cooperative Extension is currently closed to the public, but we are still working! Our Community Education Specialists and Advisors are working remotely and are available via email, mobile phone, zoom and other virtual communications technologies. DISTRICT ATTORNEY

The District Attorney’s Office continues to be open for business, but the lobby door will remain locked.  Call (530) 934-6525 and, if we cannot address the issue telephonically, someone will meet you at the door.  Please wear a face covering when approaching the office in person.  To assure “in-person” contact with an attorney, a pre-scheduled appointment is recommended.

FINANCE

The Department of Finance and Tax Collector’s office is fully open to both the public and county departments. All services have been restored and operations have returned to normal. All visitors are required to wear a mask, observe social distancing, and follow local, state and CDC public health guidelines.

In person services are suspended until further notice. Building permit inquiries, applications, and plans may be submitted electronically via Email. Environmental Health Permits shall be submitted via Email, Postal Service or Drop off Box. During this time, fees collected will be limited to Check (mailed with application) or Credit Card payment over the phone. Planning Projects shall not be submitted in person. All new Planning Projects shall be submitted via, Email, Postal Service or in the Drop off Box located outside the PCDSA office at 225 N. Tehama Street. During this time, fees collected will be limited to Check (mailed with application) or Credit Card payment over the phone.

PROBATION

The Probation Department lobby is open for business between the hours of 8:00 am to 12 pm and from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. 

Lobby occupancy is limited to five persons at a time, and seating is limited based on social distancing/placement of chairs.  All entrants are highly encouraged to wear facial coverings. Individuals feeling ill, are asked to remain at home and call the Probation Department at 934-6416 and ask to speak to the officer assigned to their case.

Drug testing and field supervision activities have resumed.  All individuals under the supervision of the department are expected to remain in compliance with all terms and conditions of probation.  Appointments with your assigned officer will take over the phone, or in the lobby if necessary.

Those clients who have probation conditions related to the attendance of meetings of either Alcoholics/Narcotics Anonymous can still meet this requirement by attending those meetings via Zoom.
